I had so much fun with Nicholle on this lucky fall day. While the forecast had us expecting rain and dreariness, instead we got sunshine and laughter. As we celebrated her upcoming college graduation by taking senior photos, I was reminded repeatedly what beautiful and brilliant person she is. Nicholle is passionate, loving, hard-working, and dedicated. She brings so much light into the lives of those that know her and I was honored to spend the time catching up, laughing together, and talking over our walk and the coffee date that followed. I am so proud of Nicholle's accomplishment and can't wait to see what incredible things she continues to do in the world.
This week I had the privilege of taking an old friend's engagement photos. Megan and I met in high school and became good friends. She was one of those friends that I could tell anything to, get into mischief with, and is the kind of person who knows how to stick with people through good and the bad times. As can easily happen after high school and as people go on to new adventures, it's been almost nine years since Megan and I have had the opportunity to catch up. I was so excited to receive Megan's message asking me to be her wedding photographer and even more excited when the limited schedule I have these days allowed me to do it! After meeting and talking for an hour (some about photography) just a few days earlier, we agreed that we needed to get in on this beautiful weather while it stuck around. So, just a few short days later Megan and Shane agreed to meet up at SE Portland's beloved Mt. Tabor for engagement photos. It was gorgeous out and so much fun to meet Megan's fiance and see them interact together. I can hardly wait for the wedding. Enjoy Megan & Shane's autumn engagement photos :-)
I has such a blast celebrating Mariana and Jeff's wedding with them. The venues were absolutely stunning, with the ceremony taking place at The Grotto and the reception taking place at Rossi Farms, both in Northeast Portland. It was a beautiful day with a lot of laughter, dancing, and details that were to die for. I'm so excited for them to begin this adventure together and was absolutely honored to capture their wedding in this way!
This is Rowan. Rowan is a senior in high school and a model on the side. I was so excited to be asked to photograph Rowan's senior photos. Our families grew up going to the same church, but I haven't seen her or her family for years. They are all so delightful and kind. It was a cold day with snow still on the ground, but Rowan braved the freezing temperatures and my goodness was it worth it! Her brilliant mother and sweet, sweet little sister joined us on the photo shoot where we began at an awesome inside space and then moved outside. I had such a fantastic time with Rowan, who was comfortable in front of the camera and so much fun to photograph! Congrats on nearly completing high school!!
This engagement session was such a delight to work on! I have had the privilege of working with Mariana for the past few years and am lucky enough to continue doing so for the next few. I was so thrilled when she approached me a while back about photographing her and Jeff's wedding next year and when she told me that they had envisioned a fall engagement photo shoot that was unique to Portland. So, where better to spend our time than at St. John's Park and the water front?! The rain seemed to break just for us last Saturday and it ended up being a stunning evening. They are such a lovely couple and I can hardly wait to photograph their upcoming wedding!
I was so glad to spend the evening with these four, as always. Cassie was my professor for several years and when I first met her, Winston was just a little baby. Gretchen came along about 6 months before Archie (my youngest son) and now these two just seem so huge. I love this family a lot. Those who know them need no further explanation. And, even though poor Gretchen had her peaceful slumber interrupted in order to take these photos (which she wasn't too happy about...and who could blame her) she still managed to make it through for some pretty sweet shots.
