I was so glad to spend the evening with these four, as always. Cassie was my professor for several years and when I first met her, Winston was just a little baby. Gretchen came along about 6 months before Archie (my youngest son) and now these two just seem so huge. I love this family a lot. Those who know them need no further explanation. And, even though poor Gretchen had her peaceful slumber interrupted in order to take these photos (which she wasn't too happy about...and who could blame her) she still managed to make it through for some pretty sweet shots.
Yesterday I gained a new sister and had the privilege of photographing the event, as my brother-in-law Josh proposed to his lovely girlfriend (now fiance) Ashley. Josh planned an extravagant set-up and his mom & dad, brother (my wonderful husband), and our two rambunctious children met at the spot early to set up and prepare for their arrival. The location was along a beautiful walkway in SW Portland near the waterfront. The walkway was lined with trees, which Josh had planned to have photos of their special memories strung on. It was a rather beautiful sight to stand back and watch their photos floating in the breeze. We got the text that Josh & Ashley had arrived, so we found our hiding spots. Josh and Ashley walked, hand-in-hand down the path, stopping to look at different photos, laughing, and embracing. After several minutes of reminiscing, they arrived at the platform where Josh had arranged to have an archway with flowers lining it and a bouquet to hand Ashley awaiting them. The rest is history. After the beautiful proposal Josh had planned a family dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory on the waterfront where her parents and brother met us all for dinner. We are so excited for Ashley to join the family and had such a lovely time celebrating with these two.
