I can hardly believe that I'm posting this less than 24 hours after shooting this wedding, BUT this is one of those weddings that is very difficult to keep my editing hands off of. Haley and Zach got married yesterday at the absolutely stunning Troutdale House, in Troutdale, OR. Everyone's fingers were crossed for an outdoor wedding, but we were at the mercy of the weather. Rain had been falling off and on all morning, but as the day proceeded, everyone remained joyful, and just a half an hour before the wedding was scheduled to begin, the rain stopped for the last time. Haley and Zach got the outdoor wedding they were hoping for, and let me tell you, it couldn't have been any more perfect. You can see the love and adoration for each other all over their faces. The ceremony was beautiful and unique, infusing various cultural traditions important to the couple. Then, to kick off the reception, Haley's dance group performed several dances, and for the last dance, the bride joined in. This wedding was truly a pleasure to be a part of and one of the most stunningly unique and enchanting weddings I've had the pleasure of photographing. Congratulations to Haley and Zach!

I recently had the privilege of photographing yet another cousin's wedding! Shayna and I grew up together and it seems like just yesterday we, together with several of our friends, would meet up at her place after school (jr. high), jamming out to Weird Al songs, and partaking in juicy gossip in order to successfully end our days. But, we've grown up (thank goodness) and on September 20th, Shayna and her now husband Buddy got married at the gorgeous Heathman Lodge in Vancouver in a touching ceremony that left almost no eye dry. It's always an extra special event when I get to photograph things with/for family and this wedding was no exception. They each wrote their own heartfelt vows, the kiddos were as cute as could be, and the father/daughter dance had me wiping away tears behind my camera. I am so thrilled to see Shayna and Buddy so happy and in love! Congrats you two!!!
Ummm....HELLO!!! This girl is stunning with a capital 'S!' Meggie is about to enter her senior year of high school and what better way to start off the year than with an amazing senior photo shoot!? She, her family, and I had met before the shoot to discuss her style, her hobbies, what she likes, and what locations/styles would truly bring out her stellar and fun personality. We decided on the Lewis & Clark College campus, the water front on the Willamette River, and Franklin High School, which were all absolutely perfect for the diversity of styles we were going for! The day of the shoot I sent Meggie to get her hair and makeup done by the amazingly talented ladies at Bliss Salon and Spa in Portland, and then we were off! She was so easy going, light hearted, and funny the entire time! She's also super involved in her high school on the cheer team and as the Spirit Commissioner on student leadership. Amazing. What a pleasure it was to spend my evening with her and her mom! During the consultation, Meggie also said that she loved the idea of the floral crown and as soon as the words left her mouth, I knew exactly which florist I would go to for it! Seventh Stem Floral in Portland made this absolutely jaw-dropping floral crown! Leave some love in the comments section for Meggie, Bliss Salon, and Seventh Stem Floral! Congrats and have a spectacular senior year, Meggie!!
I couldn't have been more thrilled to capture my beautiful cousin Joy and her new husband Chris on their special day! The wedding was held at Camp Arrah Wanna near Mt. Hood in Oregon, and took place right at dusk. It couldn't have been a more beautiful setting! All of the little details in this wedding were absolutely perfect for the location and fit their fun, laid back personalities so well! Joy was absolutely stunning and the two of them were just so beautiful together. After the breathtaking ceremony which was in a gorgeous secluded wooded area, we went to the lodge for the reception and the love between them and for them was incredibly evident! Family and friends spent the evening speaking about all of the ways that Joy and Chris are amazing people and are perfect for each other. The highlight of the evening though, which I think had everyone in tears, was Chris' touching speech about his bride. Such an amazing evening and I was so blessed to be able to capture it for them!
I had such an incredible time shooting this photo session with Candi and Antonio! They knew they wanted the water incorporated into their photos and the sunset. So, after about a month of planning and location brainstorming, we landed on a couple absolutely stunning locations in the Columbia River Gorge, and they could not have been more perfect! They were both huge troopers, going in and out of rocky waters, climbing on logs, sitting on dirty stumps, and let me tell you, it was SOOO worth it! I could not be happier with how these photos turned out and I am so thrilled to be photographing their wedding next August! Congrats you two!!
I had such a fantastic time photographing Ashley and Rob's gorgeous backyard wedding! The celebration was held at Ashley's parents' home in their stunning backyard surrounded by tons of beautiful flowers and a jaw dropping view of the city. The sun was beating down, but that didn't stop anyone in attendance from enjoying this occasion! Ashley was a stunning bride and their adorable son Aidan was the ring bearer. Too stinkin' cute! I had the pleasure of going to college with Ashley and was so absolutely thrilled to see her and new little family so happy together! Congrats Ashley and Rob! What a beautiful wedding you had!
Okay, so I went WAY overboard with posting on this session's blog post, but what can i say. You won't be surprised that I had such a difficult time choosing which ones to post once you begin scrolling through these shots. Ali is clearly stunning and not only is she gorgeous, she's brilliant AND a rock star in front of the camera and in real life. The main purpose for this shoot was to grab some killer head shots for her portfolio and acting career. We took all the shots in SE Portland, and ended down by the Willamette during one of the most incredible sunsets I've seen! Enjoy and leave some love for the amazing Ali!OMG! I am completely obsessed with this stunning ethereal maternity session! Shannon and Corey are expecting their little girl, Leia, very soon, but before her arrival, they wanted to make sure to capture their excitement and anticipation for their little bundle of joy. These two were super laid back and up for just about anything. We knew we wanted to utilize a floral crown and find a beautiful field somewhere to capture the gorgeous summer sunset, and my goodness, I think we accomplished it! Take a look and see what you think :-)
Alright folks, get ready to be knocked off your feet! If you ever needed proof that mermaids exist, I'm telling you, this girl is it! Haley and Zach wanted some whimsical and then some more modern looking shots to celebrate their engagement so we started at The Academy in Vancouver with one of the most enchanting ideas for inspiration imaginable: vintage mermaids. Haley is in love with all things ocean and mermaid, and with their wedding theme fitting in the "under the sea" category as well, we decided to jump in with both feet. We then captured some more modern-style shots at the Vancouver Community Library, where they couldn't have looked more classic, timeless, and chic. These two were so utterly lovely and adorable and I am so stoked to be capturing their wedding in October!
Today Kristi's session was featured on Senior Style Guide! Extremely excited and honored. Thanks SSG! Check out the feature blog post: http://seniorstyleguide.com/an-oregon-senior-session-8/
